Tooth Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings, available at our Carmel dental offices, have become an increasingly popular restorative dentistry option. Indeed, most patients Dr. David Love sees in his office ask for tooth-colored fillings rather than silver fillings. Old silver-amalgam fillings often show signs of wear and do not bond to tooth structure. Unfortunately, when the filling gets loose it can cause tooth fractures.

Many patients present with old veneers, bonding, or crowns on front teeth that look fake. In this case, a 35-year old patient came into the office with old yellow-looking crowns on his upper left central and lateral incisor teeth. Teeth whitening was completed and then the old crowns were removed. Accurate measurements of the patient’s new whitened teeth were taken and new crowns were fabricated by master ceramist Sang K. June.
